The Road Traveled by Many: On the Road to Boracay

Boracay Island was named Best Island of the Year 2012; it boasts its white sand and beautiful sunsets. From the accommodations, dining and activities Boracay Island it is not surprising that this former Ati Tribe inhabited is one of the most famous island in the world.

The road to Boracay is smooth and paved; this is probably another reason why tourist flock this island paradise; to reach Boracay we took:

1. A plane ride from DMIA or Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark via AirAsia to Kalibo International Aiport. We we’re lucky that to get our round trip plane tickets at a very reasonable price at Php 860. Terminal fee in DMIA is Php 150/pax.

2. A 2 hour ride from Kalibo International Airport to Caticlan Jetty Port the Main Entry Point to Boracay. The van terminal to Caticlan is just outside the Kalibo Airport; just be sure to ask the inclusions of the fee that you are paying. Fee to Caticlan Jetty Port is Php 200/pax, this will include the 2 hour ride to the port and the ferry boat ride to Boracay Island.

3. A terminal fee of Php 100/pax and an environmental fee of Php 75/pax must be paid before entering the Caticlan Jetty Port and then you ride a ferry boat to the island. The ride will on be for 5 minutes.

4. Upon arrival you may take a multicab, but a tricycle to your hotel which is about Php 100-125/ride depending on the station you want to go.
